FirstRand Trustees becomes main sponsor for Guernsey junior athletes

FirstRand Trustees is delighterd to announce that is has become the main sponsor for the junior endurance section of the Guernsey Island Amateur Athletic Club. The deal is anticipated to last 3 years and will greatly assist this section of the club in developing their promising junior athletes in the 11 to 17 age range, enabling them to travel to competitions in the UK to represent Guernsey

FirstRand Trustees receives approval for QROPS

FirstRand Trustees receives approval for its Qualifying Recognised Offshore Pension Scheme (QROPS). This will enable British citizens who are not resident in the United Kingdom to transfer their UK pension pot into FirstRand Trustees QROPS approved scheme The Plaiderie Pension Scheme. This will allow the accumulation of income and capital growth without deduction of tax and provide a number of further additional benefits, including avoiding the need to buy an annuity at retirement, greater investment flexibility and allowing any residual assets to be passed on to chosen beneficiaries.

Launch of Shari'a Trust

FirstRand Private Wealth Management is pleased to announce the launch its new Shari'a Trust. This is a specialist Shari'a Trust provided by FirstRand Trustees Limited and aimed at the fast growing market amongst the Islamic community. New name and new look for RMB International (CI)
October 2008

RMB International (C.I.) Limited is part of the FirstRand Group and takes its name from the RMB Private Banking Division of the Group concentrating on the provision of wealth management services in South Africa. Following on from the phenomenal success of this service in South Africa, the FirstRand Group has launched FirstRand Private Wealth Management Limited, a new business which draws upon the Group’s expertise in providing innovative wealth management services, aiming to develop this on an international basis. The business is initially centred in the Channel Islands and Dubai but will expand to India during the coming year.

FirstRand’s objective is to offer personalised wealth management solutions tailored to individual client needs internationally. This will be achieved by accessing the best financial services products available in the global market place, while utilising Group products where appropriate.

As RMBICI forms part of this new division, it in turn has been renamed FirstRand Trustees Limited with effect from 3 October 2008. This is a renaming and branding change only.
